Our guides

All guides at Nordic Sea Angling are trained according to the current Norwegian regulations for tourist fishing and passenger traffic for boats under 12 meters. They have undergone theoretical and practical exercises and training as well as health examinations to make you as customers feel safe at sea. Our guides are also trained in CPR.

We keep safety at a high level and have equipped our guide boats with a life raft, Epirb transmitter, AIS, fixed VHF with distress function, handheld VHF with distress function, lifebuoy with light, throwing line, emergency rockets and flares, fire extinguishers and automatically inflatable life jackets. In addition, all our Arronet boats are unsinkable, thanks to air cushions inside the hull. With reliable Suzuki engines, top-of-the-range Garmin navigation equipment and dual batteries, the boats are even safer.

Frequently asked questions / F.A.Q.

Is cancellation cover included in the trip?

ANSWER: Travel insurance/cancellation cover is not included in the trip, but you should check this with your home insurance, otherwise it is normally sufficient to pay at least 75% of the price of the trip from an account where you have a VISA alt. Mastercard.
You do not need to pay directly from the card, but can transfer money from the account where you have your card connected. Check with your bank what applies in your particular case. The conditions may vary slightly between banks, but generally you are insured by this.

How much fish can you bring?

ANSWER: The Norwegian authorities reduced the export quota to 18 kilograms of fillets per fisherman in 2021 and this is valid until further notice.

It is also now only permitted to take fish out of Norway if you have caught your fish at a tourist fishing company registered with the Directorate of Fisheries, which Nordic Sea Angling of course is.

You may also carry out your quota of 18 kilograms on a maximum of 2 occasions per calendar year.

The Norwegian authorities have also imposed a reporting obligation on sport fishing tourists in order to improve the overview of the total catch in Norway. This reporting is to be done on Halibut, Cod, Coalfish, Catfish and Kingfish.

You must report the number of fish of each species caught after your fishing trip, not the number of kilograms.

A breakdown of the number of fish caught shall be made by species and whether the fish is released or not. This is a mandatory step that all guests must do every day after fishing. It is you as a customer who is responsible for your registration of fish. If this is not done correctly, every day after fishing, you as an individual risk fines in the event of a control from the authorities. At the camp there is a user-friendly program and equipment, where you can electronically register your catch after fishing, all to make this as smooth and easy for your guests as possible. Upon arrival, the guide will give a demonstration on how to do this, and be available during the week for questions and assistance on this.

If you have followed the instructions and completed this mandatory reporting during the week, you will be issued with a receipt entitling you to take 18 kg of fillet out of the country (if the current law remains unchanged).

The receipt will be given to you by the guide before departure and must be presented at customs on request.
