The boats

Nordic Sea Angling has the best rental boats you can find in Norway. We take safety very seriously so that you as a guest will feel safe, even when the conditions are as harsh as they can be up here in the north.

We exclusively use Arronet 23.5 SPT as our rental boats, a boat model that we ourselves have been involved in developing together with Arronet Teknik AB, something we are of course very proud of. An Arronet 23.5 SPT is the ultimate sport fishing boat for fishing in Norway. It runs steadily even in very rough seas and takes on the waves exemplarily with a v-shaped hull of 21 degrees. The high freeboard with sturdy railing means that you travel safely in these boats, which are made entirely of stainless aluminum with robust welds. The hull is filled with air cushions, making the Arronet 23.5 SPT unsinkable. The console is centered and roofed for protection from both the strong sun and precipitation. During transportation, you sit comfortably in the sofas behind the front window, sheltered from the wind and dry from water splashes. You can easily move freely around the entire boat and the generous width makes the boat spacious. We recommend fishing 4 people from these boats but it is possible to be more if you wish.

With dual navigation equipment in the form of chartplotter and echo sounder, VHF radio and in most cases also radar, we keep safety at a high level. All of our Arronet 23.5 SPTs are equipped with a Suzuki 150 hp outboard. Reliable, fuel-efficient and quiet engines of absolute top class. Equipped with “Troll-mode” which allows you to digitally adjust the speed, a feature that is much appreciated when you want to adjust your operation during fishing. With dual batteries, one of which is used exclusively for the engine, we ensure the power supply on board. The boats are also equipped with a tracking system for extra safety at sea. Also on board are manual and automatic bilge pumps, a first aid kit, flares, fire extinguishers and storage space for bags and accessories.

The boats are designed with many smart features to suit fishing in northern Norway, including vertical rod holders in front of the console and in the engine well, and now also on the roof of the newest models. There are also angled rod holders along the rail, adapted to be used during fishing if you want to put the rod down with the bait in the water. In the bow of the boats, we have a specially built rack for the fish boxes, which keeps them in place even during transportation. To optimize the surface, we have chosen to cover the rack with a table, which provides a surface to fillet fish, rig your lures or baitfish. In all boats, we also provide gaffs, a flying gaff for the halibuts, tail ropes for C&R on halibut and a ruler for measuring fish.

Waypoints are entered into our chart plotters and together with our experienced guides, you will have the best chance of a fantastic fishing experience. The boats are fully fueled upon arrival. The gas stations take most common payment cards such as VISA, Mastercard etc.

We also have a fully equipped Arronet 23.5 SPT lying as a reserve boat at each destination. This is a major investment we have made to limit the risk that our guests will miss fishing time if there should be problems with a “regular” boat. We also have a full-time mechanic who travels around between the camps during the season to maintain a high standard of the boats.

Please let us know at the time of booking if you have any special requests regarding boat selection.

From May 1, 2010, new rules were introduced for boat drivers in Norway. Boat drivers on boats over 8 meters or engine power of more than 25 hp, must have a boat license if they were born after 1980. For boaters born before 1980, the new rules do not apply. This must be carried on board the boat, together with valid identification.

Guide boats and guided fishing

At all camps, we also offer guided fishing with experienced and trained guides. The guide ensures that you travel safely and securely to good fishing spots and always does his utmost to ensure that you succeed as well as possible. In addition to fishing in good fishing spots, you will also get help with technique, knots and much more.

All guides at Nordic Sea Angling are trained according to the current Norwegian regulations for tourist fishing and passenger traffic for boats under 12 meters. They have undergone theoretical and practical exercises and training as well as health examinations to make you as customers feel safe at sea. Our guides are also trained in CPR.

We keep safety at a high level and have equipped our guide boats with a life raft, Epirb transmitter, AIS, fixed VHF with distress function, handheld VHF with distress function, lifebuoy with light, throwing line, emergency rockets and flares, fire extinguishers and automatically inflatable life jackets. In addition, all our Arronet boats are unsinkable, thanks to air cushions inside the hull. With reliable Suzuki engines, top-of-the-range Garmin navigation equipment and dual batteries, the boats are even safer.

We have also registered and equipped another boat for guiding at each camp, so that you can book a day with a guide without going in the guide boat. All day guiding is done from these boats and your “regular” booked boat can then serve as a reserve boat on the day you have guiding and it must then be refueled and cleaned before you go out on your guided fishing day.

As a guest, you can not require the guide to be out around the clock. A guided fishing day, whether you go in the larger guide boats or in our extra-equipped Arronet 23.5 SPTs is about 8 hours. Even our guides have a need to rest. In good weather, there may be longer fishing sessions and in bad weather there are often shorter fishing sessions.

Regardless of the boat model you book, the gasoline is always paid by the guests on board.

This gives you as a fisherman more space on board than in our classic Arronet 23.5 SPT.
